As long as I can remember, music has had a great influence in my life. I would love to sing for anybody. As far back as I can remember, I would listen to music my mother played in the house,
Barbra Streisand,
Dionne Warwick,
Tony Bennett, and
Perry Como.
I would learn songs from the radio and would sing them to their exact sound and style. I could even sing all the musical instruments along with the vocal parts. Music was the magic in my life and it still is.
I have been singing since the age of 12 in school choir productions and continued through high school graduation. I discovered the theatre in 7th grade and added acting to my love of performing and creating a story behind each song that I sing.
It was a natural progression for me to be drawn to Musical theatre. My mother also was fond of the art form and I listened to West Side Story, Camelot and My Fair Lady amongst many others as an impressionable child.
During my high school years, I was in such shows as
Cabaret,
The Fantasticks, and Hello Dolly! I was also a soloist in the Chorus and received top honors at State festivals. Since graduating High School, I have performed in a number of other musicals, which included
Company,
She Loves Me, Baby,
The Man Of La Mancha,
Fiddler on the Roof, and
Carousel.
For over twenty years, I was the lead male soloist in two local party orchestras, The New World and Galaxy, singing standards and popular music of the time. I have also performed in the Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach Gay Men's Chorus and performed as a featured soloist in several concerts.
On a final note, I was the proud recipient of a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Florida International University in the area of Theatre in June 1990.
